Last month, our company hired three new employees, and I was asked to help with their first week. On Monday, I gave each person a small folder with a map of the building, a list of phone numbers, and a copy of the work schedule. Then we walked around the office so they could meet the other teams. Many of them felt nervous, so I invited them to have lunch together in the café. By Friday, everyone looked much more relaxed. The manager told me that a friendly start helps new workers stay longer, and she asked me to do the same thing again next spring.
